Lucite® cast acrylic colors featuring Microban® antimicrobial protection1 Jan 2009Memphis, TN, USALucite International (LI) first launched Microban® antimicrobial protection in its Celestial Granite™ series in 1998, but in January 2009 Microban antimicrobial protection will be available to customers in the USA in all 19 Lucite® cast acrylic colors. Microban® antimicrobial product protection is built-in to Lucite acrylic during the manufacturing process to help prevent the growth of stain causing bacteria on the surface of the spa. Microban protection works continuously to keep the surface of the spa cleaner and won’t wash off or wear away for protection that lasts the lifetime of the spa. LI’s Chris Robinson commented: “Spa owners are looking for a fast and easy way to relax at home after a hard day. Microban protection helps deliver on that promise of relaxation. Lucite acrylic is non-porous, which means that it is easy to clean, and with the added protection of Microban antimicrobial technology, the surface of spa stays cleaner even between cleanings.
